it’s been awhile.
truth be told, i miss you.
we spent so much time together.
i learned so much from you.
you were the guide post in my wilderness.
the compass for when i’m lost.
for that, i did all i could to show you fruit.
so you could be proud of me.
so you could see the work you put in me.
but a storm came, and i couldn’t weather it.
i thought you would be there.
i thought you were for me.
no, no, i was just a branch that was meant to be pruned
so that the rest of the plant could grow.
did it grow like you wanted?
did it bear fruit like it was suppose to?
did my dying help it live?
i sure hope so.
